Chocolate Salami: Easy chocolate treat

This chocolate treat is very easy to make ^^, no oven needed and packed with delicious chocolate taste.
I think you can't believe that this deep dark chocolate salami is made from cocoa powder mixed with butter and golden syrup. I use salted butter for this recipe because it makes the taste more complex (well only sweet, bitter from the chocolate and richness from nuts and butter is too flat). You can use any kinds of nut, for mine I use pecan and macadamia but I think next time I will use pistachio nuts as it will give the salami beautiful green color.
Give this salami as a special gift for your friend is a good idea (the only problem is the salami melt too easy in the hot weather, so be careful). But if you make it for yourself, keep it in the fridge then cut out a small piece each time you need chocolate, you will be happy too.

Chocolate Salami

100g .............................. Digestive or shortbread biscuits, crush into small pieces
50g ................................. Salted butter
1 tbsp ............................. Golden syrup (or honey)
30g ................................. Cocoa powder
75g .................................. Mix nuts, lightly roasted and roughly chopped
......................................... Icing sugar

Put the butter and golden syrup into medium saucepan, and place over medium heat.
When the butter is completely melted, remove from the heat then stir in the cocoa powder. Add chopped nuts and crushed biscuits. Stir until the mixture is well combined.
Place the baking paper on a pan then tip the mixture into the paper. Squash the crumbly mixture into a long salami shape. Wrap the foil around the chocolate salami and chill in the fridge for 2 hours or until firm.

Unwrap and dust with icing sugar.
Wrap with baking paper and store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to a week.
